The members of the Clay County Advisory Committee are appointed by the county board of commissioners and are made up of 11 members. The composition and terms of the advisory committee are guided by NC GS 153A-77.

The Clay County Health and Human Services Advisory Board meets quarterly, the second Tuesday of the month at 8:00am at the Health Department unless otherwise posted. All committee meetings are open to the public. The schedule for the meetings for 2024 is as follows:
